Gave alumni's viewpoint on how I benefited from Landmark, encouraged students and their families to do make the most of their experience at Landmark, and expressed the pride and joy I feel about Landmark College and its future. 

Title: Student Feedback Panel
Description: One of four student panelists whose participation is intended to raise awareness among architects designing the proposed student services building about the challenges students with physical and non-physical disabilities may experience with the current floor plan.

Title: Graduate Student Panel
Description: One of three graduate student panelists (and the only panelist with a documented disability) whose participation is intended to raise awareness among undergraduate students about the multiple facets of graduate student life at a Tier-1 research institution.  Discussion topics include faculty expectations, teaching and research work load, balancing work and life commitments, stress, and overall health and wellness.

Description: One of four student panelists with a variety of disabilities presenting through interactive discussion coping strategies to manage and thrive with adversity, provided as the first presentation for CommUnity Conversations, a series of disability-awareness programs sponsored by the Department of Disability Services and the Department of Multicultural Services at Texas A&M University.

Title:  How Do You Define Success: The Art of Self-Determination
Description:  Given to nearly 100 middle-school and high-school students with various disabilities (learning, emotional/behavioral, intellectual) from four local campuses, this presentation encouraged students to develop and expand their own self-determination by emphasizing the need to set goals, solve problems and advocate for themselves.

Title:  Learning Disabilities in Graduate School: Separating Fact from Fiction
Description:  Disabilities are sometimes assumed to be physical, such as with mobility impairment.  Other disabilities may go unnoticed or misunderstood.  This presentation served to clarify what disabilities are, with an emphasis on learning disabilities, identify what reasonable accommodations are and are not, and what disability-oriented campus resources are available for students and faculty.  This presentation promoted professional development and community enrichment by acknowledging the diversity that disabilities bring to collegiate settings.

Title: Delegate, Education Trade Mission, Vermont and Quebec     
Description: I was the only student delegate, recommended by Vermont State Governor James Douglas, educating Quebec’s Minister of Education about learning disabilities, and discussing programs for learning-disabled students with administration of Sherbrook Université, Quebec.  December 2003.
